I believe any human population should be removed from an area which has suffered a large nuclear accident. The burdens and cost of living within such an environment are beyond the capacities of most, especially women and children. Areas affected by the disaster should be isolated and any agricultural products should not be eaten. I believe there is no hope that nuclear waste research will ever produce a benign or successful method of converting or removing such radiation. The industry must be shutdown and replaced by energy generated through renewable and benign processes. Any remaining nuclear waste must be stored with the plan that the waste by monitored and storage maintained as long as it is active. "Hardened on-site storage" is the most conservative and reasonable plan put forward so far and I support it.
